A conversation about nonprofit tech needs

Some local nonprofits met in our office yesterday to talk about technology needs.  We heard some common themes: desire to network with other IT professionals, finding a sounding board, and ideas to stay current with the latest technology trends.  Nonprofit staff also need help understanding what they even have in place, learning basic website design, developing a social media strategy, and learning new tips for productivity.

A major topic was online giving which was timely since we  recently learned about rate changes with Razoo (our current processor).  Several options were mentioned - Click-n-pledge, Square, Google wallet, Blue Pay, Paypal, Authorize, and Greater Giving.

So what's the point?  The point is - we hear you.  We want to connect nonprofits with solid IT trainers and help connect orgs with each other.  We're thinking of having quarterly conversations like the ones that happened yesterday. I think everyone walked away with at least one new idea.

If you have suggestions on how local nonprofits can help each other with tech needs, please get in touch with me: tina {at} coastalcommunityfoundation {dot} org.   You can also subscribe for updates on training and other tech-related activities.  Let's keep the conversation going.
